July 22 Cure and Prevent CancerAFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY (TRY THE KEY WORD) AND ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHN HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY 1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size. 2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime. 3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors. 4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors. 5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system. 6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc. 7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs. 8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction. 9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications. 10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites. 11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply. CANCER CELLS FEED ON: a.. Sugar, is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like Nutrasweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt. ( THE WEST MADE US CHANGE FROM SEA TO WHITE IODISED SALT ). b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro- intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved. c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer. d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C). e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water- best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it. 12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup. 13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells. 14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Florssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells. 15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life. 16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells. PLEASE READ ON : 1. No plastic containers in micro. 2. No water bottles in freezer. 3. No plastic wrap in microwave. Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This info is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals causes cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as CorningWare, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons. Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead. April 27 PAINS AND SUFFERINGSPAIN AND SUFFERINGS Who among us does not suffer, bearing persistent pain and hurt? Sickness or handicaps, broken relationships, insufficient resources-these are all sources of pain and suffering. Some is by chance, like an auto accident that maims us or a cancer that cripples our loved one or even takes their life. Some is by neglect, such as our failure to prepare for times of pressure. Some is by design, where we willingly take on enormous responsibilities in order to achieve some goal. Some is by sin, where we willingly go against God’s commands and then must suffer the consequences. Whatever the source, we all feel the dark shadow of suffering.
WHAT DOES GENESIS 26 -28 MEAN TO US? WHAT’S GOD TELLING US? Important Note: God created us with: two leg with two feet and ten toes that enable us to walk, run, climb, etc ; two arms, hands and ten fingers to create and destroy, etc; two eyes with eyelids, lashes, eyebrows that enable us to see, sleep, etc; two nostrils with hairs inside to filter dirt from going inside our lungs that enable us to breath, stimulate our sense of smell, etc; two lungs that convert room/outside air (21% oxygen) into 96 – 99% oxygen concentration in our arteries to sustain our body cells and vital organs; one mouth with full complements of teeth, salivary glands, taste buds, epiglottis that prevents food and liquids from going inside our lungs that can choke us to death; one tongue (could be use as very sharp, dull, or any way you want) for communications; two ears with full accessories to enable us to hear; a face with full accessory musculature that enable us to show and communicate our emotions, etc; a head with full accessories of different kinds of hair, inside our thick skull is the most sophisticated computer systems that only God can create – connects and controls our entire nervous and immune systems, and all our body systems; gastro-intestinal tract – our digestive systems providing our entire bodies its nutritional needs; genitor-urinary systems – the equivalent of the waste management systems of our cities to keeps healthy and alive; a liver that detoxifies our body and make insulin to enable us in using sugars for energy, etc; two kidneys to filter waste in our blood, plus make hormones to help our bone morrows manufacture red blood cells, a bladder that gather and store urine and timely elimination capabilities so that we do not piss in our underwear; male and female organs and reproductive systems to help us have fun and populate the earth; a sophisticated skin with sweat glands to regulation our body temperature, and nerve endings to protect our body from harm, etc; a heart, arteries, veins, millions of capillaries, etc, commonly known our cardio-vascular systems design to distribute nutrients and oxygen , then collect and recycle it, and many more sophisticated systems too many to mention. Our “human nature” has “strong bodily passions and desires” that cause us to do immoral, filthy and indecent actions, idols worships and witchcraft. Because of these, we become enemies (fights, jealousy and envious with each other, angry); idolatry (love of money, self, etc) involves selfish ambitions, hidden agenda, and leads us to greed, separates people of God into parties, groups, etc; envious, get drunk, have orgies, and behaviors out of control. MOREOVER, our pride and self-centered desire for control leads us to the following consequences: anxiety, divided mind and loyalty, damaged self-esteem, feeling of hypocrisy, feelings of emptiness, disappointment, anger, depression, feelings of dishonesty, create doubts and fears, self-sabotaging our future, destroys the ministry of God, therefore limiting our usefulness and productivity to honor God – our creator. FURTHERMORE, our thoughts and imaginations offer: pleasure without penalty or sacrifice and work; we desire and want something but will never be able to satisfy our physical needs. Then we consent to do what feels good and draw us to a never ending attempts to satisfy our: needs for acceptance (to be like the Joneses), needs or sense of fulfillment, needs to conquer, needs to get even, and needs to build our damaged self-esteem. OUR BODILY PASSIONS AND DESIRES ARE SUBJECTED TO: Laws, Rules and Regulations, Worldly Standards, Penalties and Punishments. BECAUSE, God created us in his image, love us, while we’re sinners, gave his son Jesus Christ as a sacrificial lamb to die for our sins (past, present, and future) to renew and reconcile us with God the father. Through Jesus Christ resurrection from death he defeated evil/death and save us – our Lord and Savor – restore us “perfect and complete, needing nothing.” God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) live in each of us. THIS GIVES US our “Spiritual Nature” which guides us in the decisions, choices, we make. God gives us these armors (truth, righteousness, faith, readiness to proclaim the Gospel, accept salvation of Jesus Christ, word of God as sword) to help us “stand up against the Devil’s wicked spiritual forces and evil tricks.” THERE IS NO LAW AGAINST THESE GIFTS FROM GOD. God’s rewards us accordingly (be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and govern it) and live abundantly.
April 22 Loan SchemesNATION'S HOUSING
A close look at loan schemesAppraiser groups seek a crackdown on bank officers and lenders who they say pressure them to overvalue homes.
By Kenneth R. Harney, Washington Post Writers Group April 22, 2007 WASHINGTON — Have inflated appraisals helped fuel the current surge in foreclosures by credit-strapped borrowers? Are they at the core of many mortgage fraud schemes? The four largest trade groups representing appraisers say yes — and they are asking federal financial regulators to crack down on lenders and loan officers who pressure appraisers to raise valuations to allow overpriced deals to go through. Led by the 22,000-member Appraisal Institute, the groups told regulators April 11 that sub-prime lenders experiencing high rates of foreclosures often have been guilty of "systematic inattention" to the accuracy and the sources of the valuations backing the mortgages they funded. Such lenders: • Bought loans with zero or minimal down payments without taking a hard look at the qualifications and track records of appraisers supplying the numbers. Yet in softening housing markets, accuracy on property valuations is essential whenever down payments are tiny and borrowers' credit histories are shaky. A zero-down mortgage made to unqualified buyers on a house worth thousands less than the appraisal in a depreciating market is a financial disaster waiting to happen. • Failed to require "firewalls" separating loan officers working on commission from the appraisers hired to value the properties to be financed. National studies repeatedly have shown that commissioned loan officers often demand that appraisers cooperate to hit whatever number is needed to push the transaction to closing — or lose all future business. Ninety percent of the appraisers in a 2006 national survey by October Research Corp. said they had experienced threats, nonpayment of fees and other forms of coercion. Many said they had lost business by refusing to play the game. Lender complacency about appraisals also has enabled con artists to bilk banks and investors of billions of dollars in home mortgage fraud schemes. The four appraiser groups cited FBI estimates that mortgage fraud losses are now approaching $3 billion a year — and many of those schemes start with intentionally inflated property valuations that lenders fail to spot. A senior member of the Appraisal Institute provided an inside look at one type of scam that is turning up across the country. It's called "cash out at closing" and uses overstated property valuations as the starting point. Gary Crabtree, president of Affiliated Appraisers in Bakersfield, documented the practice recently for the FBI and state financial and real estate regulators. The basic scenario, Crabtree said, involves realty agents who've listed houses that aren't selling. To move the properties, they entice buyers or friends to "submit an offer [for the home] that is $30,000 to $100,000 above the current list price," with the promise that they'll get substantial cash at closing. The realty agents then amend the Multiple Listing Service asking price upward to the artificially inflated offer price. A house that had been sitting for months with no takers at $450,000, for example, might be re-listed by the agent at $525,000. Then, working with a cooperative appraiser who has promised to "hit the number," and an unscrupulous mortgage broker, they change the loan documentation to reflect the artificially inflated sales price. The loans typically are for 100% of the price of the house. The seller nets the price he or she originally listed at — $450,000 in this example — and the buyer gets a portion or all of the $75,000 inflated differential as cash at closing. The wholesale lender purchasing the loan from the broker doesn't look hard at the appraisal and funds the excessive loan amount none the wiser. Public records do not reflect the $75,000 slush in the transaction. The realty agents and loan brokers pocket their commissions; the buyer pockets the cash from the closing proceeds, makes loan payments for a while and then stops. Within months, the property is headed to foreclosure. "It's total fraud, of course," said Crabtree, who is documenting 32 cases of alleged appraisal hanky-panky for state regulators and the FBI. Yet some lenders are in denial that they've accepted grossly inflated appraisals. Crabtree said he contacted one major East Coast lender with the documented details of a "cash-back-at-closing" scam he submitted to state regulators. So far, the lender has not returned phone calls, according to Crabtree. Compounding the problem beyond the individual foreclosures, the inflated selling prices of the homes involved remain "in the system" for use as "comparables" for valuations in the coming months. That $525,000 recorded closing price on the house that wasn't selling at $450,000, in other words, might now be available on the public records as a "comp" for overvaluing upcoming sales. Our Bodies Are The Temples Of GodBODY
GOD IS THE CREATOR OF THE HUMAN BODY. As an artist gives value to his or her work, so God gives infinite value to us by being our artist. God’s character goes into the creation of every person. GENESIS
26 Then God said, “Let us make human beings* in our image, to be like ourselves. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” 27 So God created human beings* in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it.

Then we consent to do what feels good that draw us to satisfy our: needs for acceptance (to be like the Joneses), needs or sense of fulfillment, needs to conquer, needs to get even, and needs to build our damaged self-esteem. OUR BODILY PASSIONS AND DESIRES ARE SUBJECTED TO: man-made Laws, Rules and Regulations, Worldly Standards, Penalties and Punishments. God’s rewards us accordingly (be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and govern it)and live abundantly. “God’s character goes into the creation of every person.” It produces joy, peace, patience, kindness and gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control in us.
OUR BODY IS TO BE A LIVING SACRIFICE. When sacrificing an animal according to God’s law, a priest would kill the animal, cut it in pieces, and place it on the altar. Sacrifice was important, but even in the Old Testament God made it clear that obedience from the heart was much more important (see 1 Samuel 15:22; Psalm 40:6; Amos 5:21-24). God wants us to offer ourselves, not animals, as living sacrifices-daily laying aside our own desires to follow him, putting all our energy and resources at his disposal and trusting him to guide us. We do this out of gratitude that our sins have been forgiven. BIBLE READING: 1 Corinthians 6:15-20 KEY BIBLE VERSE: Don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
GOD’S SPIRIT LIVES IN THE BODIES OF CHRISTIANS. What did Paul mean when he said that our body belongs to God? Many people say they have the right to do whatever they want with their own bodies. Although they think that this is freedom, they are really enslaved to their own desires. When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit fills us and lives within us. Therefore, we no longer own our body. “Bought with a high price” refers to slaves purchased at auction. Christ’s death freed us from sin but also obligates us to his service. If you live in a building owned by someone else, you try not to violate the building rules. Because your body belongs to God, you must not violate his standards for living.
HOW IS CHARACTER DEVELOPED?
CHARACTER IS DEVELOPED THROUGH CHALLENGES. God tested Abraham, not to trip him and watch him fall, but to deepen his capacity to obey God and thus develop his character. Just as fire refines ore to extract precious metals, God refines us through difficult circumstances. When we are tested, we can complain, or we can try to see how God is stretching us to develop our character. BIBLE READING: Romans 5:1-11 KEY BIBLE VERSE: We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us-they help us learn to endure. And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation. (Romans 5:3-4)
CHARACTER IS DEVELOPED THROUGH SUFFERING. For first-century Christians, suffering was the rule rather than the exception. Paul tells us that in the future we will become, but until then we must overcome. This means we will experience difficulties that help us grow. We rejoice in suffering, not because we like pain or deny its tragedy, but because we know God is using life’s difficulties and Satan’s attacks to build our character. The problems that we run into will develop our perseverance-which in turn will strengthen our character, deepen our trust in God, and give us greater confidence about the future. You probably find your patience tested in some way every day. Thank God for those opportunities to grow, and deal with them in his strength (see also James 1:2-4; 1 Peter 1:6-7). BIBLE READING: Mark 1:1-13 KEY BIBLE VERSE: Immediately the Holy Spirit compelled Jesus to go into the wilderness. He was there for forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was out among the wild animals, and angels took care of him. (Mark 1:12-13)
CHARACTER IS DEVELOPED BY TEMPTATION. Jesus left the crowds and went into the desert where he was tempted by Satan. Temptation is bad for us only when we give in. We should not hate or resent times of inner testing, because through them God can strengthen our character and teach us valuable lessons. When you face Satan and must deal with his temptations and the turmoil he brings, remember Jesus. He used God’s Word against Satan and won. You can do the same.
CHOICES
HOW CAN WE LEARN TO MAKE GOOD CHOICES?
WE CAN BE AWARE THAT ATTRACTIVE CHOICES SOMETIMES LEAD TO SIN. Sin is enticing because it offers a quick route to prosperity and makes us feel like one of the crowd. But when we go along with others and refuse to listen to the truth, our own appetite becomes our master, and we’ll do anything to satisfy it. Sin, even when attractive, is deadly. We must learn to make choices not on the basis of flashy appeal or short-term pleasure, but in view of the long-range effects. Sometimes this means steering clear of people who want to draw us into activities that we know are wrong. We can’t be friendly with sin and expect our life to remain unaffected.
WE CAN REMEMBER THAT GOOD CHOICES HAVE POSITIVE LONG-TERM RESULTS. Living right is like posting a guard for your life. Every choice for good sets into motion other opportunities for good. Evil choices follow the same pattern, but in the opposite direction. Each decision you make to obey God’s Word will bring a greater sense of order to your life, while each decision to disobey will bring confusion and destruction. The right choices you make reflect your integrity. Obedience brings the greatest safety and security.
WE CAN REMEMBER THAT RIGHT CHOICES ARE SOMETIMES DIFFICULT. When Jesus called Matthew to be one of his disciples, Matthew got up and followed, leaving a lucrative career. When God calls you to follow or obey him, do you do it with as much abandon as Matthew? Sometimes the decision to follow Christ requires difficult or painful choices. Like Matthew, we must decide to leave behind those things that would keep us from following Christ. CHOICES
OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE THE GOSPEL MAY COME FROM HARDSHIPS. Being imprisoned would cause many people to become bitter or to give up, but Paul saw it as one more opportunity to spread the Good News of Christ. Paul realized that his current circumstances weren’t as important as what he did with them. Turning a bad situation into a good one, he reached out to the Roman soldiers who made up the palace guard and encouraged those Christians who were afraid of persecution. We may not be in prison, but we still have plenty of opportunities to be discouraged-times of indecision, financial burdens, family conflict, church conflict, or the loss of our jobs. How we act in such situations will reflect what we believe. Like Paul, look for ways to demonstrate your faith even in bad situations. Whether or not the situation improves, your faith will grow stronger. OPPOSITION SOMETIMES REVEALS PEOPLE’S FEAR OF CHANGE.
Many people don’t want their lives exposed to God’s light because they are afraid of what will be revealed. They don’t want to be changed. Don’t be surprised when these same people are threatened by your desire to obey God and do what is right, because they are afraid that the light in you may expose some of the darkness in their lives. Rather than giving in to discouragement, keep praying that they will come to see how much better it is to live in light than in darkness.
PROCRASTINATION REVEALS DEEPER PROBLEMS.
Often we delay doing jobs that seem large, difficult, boring, or disagreeable. But to continue putting them off shows lack of discipline, poor stewardship of time, and in some cases disobedience to God. Jobs we don’t enjoy require concentration, teamwork, twice as much time, lots of encouragement, and accountability. Remember this when you are tempted to procrastinate. BIBLE READING: Proverbs 10:1-32 KEY BIBLE VERSE: Lazy people are soon poor; hard workers get rich. A wise youth works hard all summer; a youth who sleeps away the hour of opportunity brings shame. (Proverbs 10:4-5)
PROCRASTINATION IS THE CAUSE OF MANY OF OUR FAILURES. Every day has twenty-four hours filled with opportunities to grow, serve, and be productive. Yet it is so easy to waste time, letting life slip from our grasp. Refuse to be a lazy person, sleeping or frittering away the hours meant for productive work. See time as God’s gift, and seize your opportunities to live diligently for him. BIBLE READING: Proverbs 26:1-28 KEY BIBLE VERSE: The lazy person is full of excuses, saying, “I can’t go outside because there might be a lion on the road! Yes, I’m sure there’s a lion out there!” As a door turns back and forth on its hinges, so the lazy person turns over in bed. Some people are so lazy that they won’t lift a finger to feed themselves. Lazy people consider themselves smarter than seven wise counselors. (Proverbs 26: 13 - 16) April 21 Sub-Prime Mortgage Market TroubleH&R Block to sell mortgage unitCerberus Capital agrees to take over troubled sub-prime lender Option One for an amount to be set.
By Roger Vincent, Times Staff Writer April 21, 2007 H&R Block Inc. said Friday that it would sell Option One Mortgage Corp., its troubled Irvine-based sub-prime lending unit, to private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management. Shares of Kansas City, Mo.-based H&R Block, best known for its tax preparation business, rose 73 cents to $22.56. The sale amount is still to be determined, but analysts estimated that the final amount would be perhaps 40% less than H&R Block had originally hoped. The discount reflects problems in the business of making sub-prime mortgage loans to credit-challenged borrowers amid a weak housing market and rising loan defaults. "Within a year, all of the independents will be gone," said analyst David Olson, president of Wholesale Access Mortgage Research & Consulting Inc. "There's just not enough profit for them to sustain themselves." OOMB Acquisition Corp., a newly formed subsidiary of New York-based Cerberus, will buy Option One for the value of its mortgage assets minus $300 million. The final price won't be set until the deal closes in H&R Block's second quarter, which ends in October, but it probably will be less than $1 billion — perhaps as low as $700 million or $800 million, said Alex Paris, an analyst at Barrington Research in Chicago. H&R Block Chief Executive Mark Ernst told analysts that even at the discounted price, he was glad to have reached a deal. "Given the significant changes in the sub-prime market, we're pleased with the outcome," he said. The sale ended concerns that H&R Block would be able to find a buyer for the unit as defaults on sub-prime mortgages rose to the highest level in four years. Tough times for lenders will last for at least two more years, said Olson, who predicted that federal regulators would start pushing interest rates down by the end of 2007 and lay the groundwork for an industry comeback. Also Friday, U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. said that the housing market correction appeared to be at or near its bottom and that troubles in the sub-prime mortgage market were unlikely to spread throughout the economy, Reuters reported. |
